Sometimes you get discouraged because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints on furniture and walls.
But every day I’m growing – I’ll be grown up someday
And all those tiny handprints will surely fade away
So here’s a final handprint just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked when I was very small.
The poem depicts how children grow up so quickly. It is easy to promise yourself that you will spend more time with them when your work and personal schedules slow down. You tell yourself I will get down on the ground and play with them tomorrow. But tomorrow turns into the next day, which turns into a week and a week turns into a month, the month turns into the year and before you know it, your kids have grown up and have families of their own. Remember this is it! These years with your children will never repeat. “The greatest gifts you can give your children are your time. And one of the greatest gifts you will give yourself is that of enjoying your kids and seeing them for what they truly are: The small miracles of life
